Truth verses opinion is a very interesting topic. I feel
that some truths are base off of individual opinions. For example something can
be true, but there is always someone who is trying to justify or prove why or
why not something is or isn’t true. Take science and religion for an example.
Those who believe in the scientific approach to things are always looking for
proof or evidence to show that something that is said to be true is actually true.
But, if you are more religious, these truths do not have to be proven. It is based
on faith and not evidence. These truths also are based on the opinions of the
individuals to believe in one or the other. No matter which concept you believe
in you probably have an opinion about the other. Let’s say that a scientific
person believes that the big bang created the earth and that’s what they think
is true. They are going to have opinions about a religious person saying that
God is the reason why the universe exist; since that is their truth. So really
I think the truth of somethings are the opinions of these things. They go hand
in hand because when you are dealing with truths not everyone is going to
believe the same thing you believe. To me this is opinion. So saying something
is true does not mean that there are not going to be opinions attached to the
truths that people believe.

Your argument has a very valid point. The approach of people having opinions and using a few proven truths to base other truths. Opinions are more how a certain individual sees a certain topic. An opinion can also be someones theory, whether it is fact based or not opinions are emotion driven. Truth should be hard facts like the truth about gravity, or touching a flame will burn you. Using the example big bang theory according to scientist is more of a theory. That is an individual using ideas to shape or form an opinion. A truth that is more opinion based would be a history book. People using their opinions to tell future generations what they want people to believe to be true. When there is a war, the losing side does not write the book, and the prevailing side will not write on the horrible deeds they did to become the winning side. Very good article.
